Sixth Sense Ventures, the consumer-focused venture fund, has invested an undisclosed amount in plant-based meat company, GoodDot.
GoodDot sells its products through direct-to-consumer channels, e-commerce platforms as well as over 7,500 offline stores. Besides India, the company has a presence in international markets such as Canada, Dubai, Nepal, South Africa and Singapore and plans to foray in markets such as US and Europe in the coming months.
Udaipur-based company will use the funds to strengthen its presence in Indian and international markets. It will also step up spends on R&D, marketing and wider distribution.

Sunway Group to buy Wadia Group’s medical devices firm
Mumbai-based Sunway Group, a medium-sized pharmaceuticals company, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire medical devices maker Inor Medical Products Ltd. Inor Medical, which is engaged in the manufacture and sale of orthopedic implants and instruments, is part of The Bombay Burmah Trading whose parent is Wadia Group that has stakes in companies such as biscuit maker Britannia Industries and budget airline GoAir. Sunway Group was incorporated in 1951, according to its website. It manufactures and markets formulations in the niche market of ophthalmology and ENT.

Dangal Games, the umbrella platform for online skill-based games including PokerDangal and RummyDangal, has raised $1 million (Rs 7.3 crore) in a Series A funding round. The platform, run by Xeta Gaming Pvt Ltd, said that it has raised this capital from a strategic investor. The company is among the top five poker-focused platforms in the country and that RummyDangal has a user base of more than five lakh. Dangal Games says it is also planning to add fantasy games to its platform before the next edition of the Indian Premier League. The company is setting up a new plant near Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad-based company mopped up about Rs 30 crore ($4.65 million) from GVFL Ltd. It will use the funds to expand its manufacturing capabilities and distribution reach.
Chhajed Foods, which was founded in 1979, is managed by Rajesh Chhajed, his two brothers and his father. It makes ready-to-fry snack pellets under two categories – cereal-based pellet (paan iPuri) and potato-based pellet.
